Body Combat

So I just attended my first Body Combat class.. and WOW. What a great workout!

I highly recommend adding this to your fitness routine!!!

I am going to be so sore tomorrow :(

Third Pre Season Task - COMPLETE

My goals for the next 12 months

1 Month Goals
Lose 5kg
Walk at a pace of 5km for 20 mins non stop

How I Will Get There
Follow the 12wbt program, STAY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL - too many bad decisions are made when drunk/hungover. Go to the gym on weekends instead.
Push harder at the gym. Try to walk at 6km/hr for a few mins each day so that 5km/h doesn't seem as hard at first.

3 Month Goals
Lose 10-20kg
include jogging into treadmill routine.

How I Will Get There
Follow 12wbt program
Do not drink alcohol.
Try jogging for at least 2 mins per gym session until it feels right.

6 Month Goals
Lose 20-30kg
Start jogging more than walking during treadmill sessions

How I Will Get There
Follow healthy nutrition and exercise plan
Do not drink alcohol
Try jogging for a 5-10 min intervals in each treadmill session

12 Month Goals
Lose 30-40kg
Start running
Start playing hockey
Fit in a size 10 dress

How I Will Get There
Follow healthy nutrition and exercise plan
Do not drink alcohol
try to run for 5-10 mins in each treadmill session.

I decided to include 'stay away from alcohol' from each goal because I feel that every time I drink I find that I make really poor decisions regarding food and exercise so I have decided that I need to stop drinking for a while and concentrate on improving my body and my life.

Second Pre Season Task - COMPLETED

My Excuses and Their Solutions

Internal Excuses
I am too tired.
I am not motivated.
Work drained me today I just want to sleep.

Just get on with it, stop thinking about it and just DO IT. Each session will get me one step closer to my goals.

So what if work drained my life today? The gym will help me release my tensions. Boxing classes are on Monday evenings (which is my most stressful day at work) so I can take it out on the punching bags!

External Excuses Within My Control
I am too busy
I can't afford it.

Swap a rest day with an evening with friends. Not everything goes to schedule. Yes I have set days I like to be at the gym, and I used the rest days to see friends. As long as I work out 4-5 times a week that is FINE. Don't stress about having to swap a session around.

I can afford this. Shop at markets. Attend more gym classes to get value for money. I have enough equipment at home to get me by as well as the DVD's. Yes money is tight but I just have to spend it wisely.

Luckily I don't use these excuses often!

External Excuses Outside My Control
Touch wood there is an emergency

Deal with the crisis first. And as soon as I can get to the gym – I will. Hopefully I won't have to deal with this for a long time. But if I do – just deal with the crisis first and if I am stressed – try some Yoga or go for a walk to help. No matter what I will get back on top!

First Pre Season Task - COMPLETE

Ok so it was nice and simple. Go to the forums and introduce myself. I have to admit it was a little nerve racking as I am not one who likes to tell my life story to a whole bunch of strangers but at the end of the day - we are all there for the same reason and it was great to get some motivation and support from all the comments people left me!

The forums are actually quite addictive!!! I've enjoyed reading everyone's stories, and offering them words of "wisdom" or encouragement. It's been a really positive experience so far.

I can't wait to start week 1!! Hurry up Feb 21st!!

In the meantime I am continuing my healthy eating and my exercise regime but plan to step if up a bit in preparation for Week 1.

All I can think about right now is going into a shop and purchasing clothes that are a size 10. And heading out one night and actually having guys pay me attention for once and not because they have 'beer goggles' on. Actually looking forward to Summertime instead of dreading it and being able to look in the mirror and be proud of what I see because it will be a HUGE achievement for me to get to my goal weight.

And last but not least, and I know this sounds shallow but I want to show off my new body to all the guys who treated me like shit over the years, the ones who wouldn't committ to me just to show them what they are missing out on. Because I will have the whole package - looks and personality. And they can regret it.

Not that I am doing this FOR THEM. I am doing this for myself. It's just a bonus to be able to show off and rub it in a bit ;)

I just want to be comfortable and happy within myself. And I know I can do it.
